If you still want neat, cleaner stems, follow this workflow in Ableton, FL Studio, Logic Pro, or any other DAW.
 
  1. Clean up each stem with EQ
  • Vocals: Use a high-pass filter at 80–100 Hz to remove bass bleed from other instruments
  • Drums: Turn down everything below 30 Hz. If the drums sound boxy, lower 250 Hz on the slider.
  • Bass: Use a low-pass filter at 120–150 Hz to remove bleed from guitars or keys.
  • Guitar/Keys: Use a high-pass filter at 80–100 Hz to remove muddiness. If you can still hear vocals, notch down 1–4 kHz and the voice will vanish.
 
  1. Control dynamics
  • Apply light compression (of about a 2:1 to 4:1 ratio) on vocals and drums to even out levels.
